Obituary for Elmore V. Cooper

Elmore V. Cooper
1931-2017

On May 16, 2017, Elmore V. Cooper of Spring, Texas went to heaven at the age of 85. Elmore was born June 29, 1931 in Greenville, MS to Jasper W. and Mattie Lou Vaughan. Her early life was filled with pleasant memories of horseback riding and rowing a boat on nearby Deer Park streams. Shortly after WWII she met and married Jasper Lee Cooper in Greenville, MS. After having two sons, she went to work for the Natchez public school system. Mr. Cooper's career took them to New Orleans LA, where she worked for Sears as the head controller for the greater New Orleans area. After retirement, she and Mr. Cooper moved to Eupora, MS, where they enjoyed painting and producing wood crafts for shows. Her life was centered around her family, and focused on her belief in God. At one time she had memorized the entire New Testament. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Lee Cooper, and younger son Jerry Allen Cooper. She is survived by and older brother, Dr. Oliver W. Vaughan, a son, Gene Lee Cooper, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
