There are condolences waiting approval on GLADYS's Tribute wall

Gladys McNight, 84, of Clarksville, Arkansas, went home to be with Jesus on May 16, 2017 after fighting a year-long battle with cancer. She was born in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania on July 11, 1932 to the late Forrest and Katherine Wilt.
The Wilts made their home on Mulberry Street, and Gladys attended Hollidaysburg Area High School. She left school early and married David Garhart in 1949, and the couple made their home in Lakemont, PA. In the 50’s and 60’s, Gladys was an original “super-mom” – skillfully raising four children and managing the home while also working at the SKF Ball Bearing factory in nearby Altoona. Gladys and David were married for 18 years until 1967.
In 1968, Gladys married the late MSgt Henry “Mac” McNight, USAF (Retired). Gladys and Mac were married for almost 48 years and had two children. In her 40’s, she completed her high school GED, and then in her 60’s she received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of the Ozarks. Mac’s Air Force career had the family living in New York, Illinois, California, Oklahoma, Crete, and eventually settling down in Arkansas. During this time Gladys worked as a homemaker as well as taking occasional outside jobs and volunteering as a Cub Scout Den Mother.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mac, and siblings Ralph Wilt, Mildred Shade, Paul Wilt, Earl Wilt, and Hazel Hammel. She is survived by a sister, Ruth Kline of Placentia, California and six children: Ronald Garhart of Yorktown, Virginia; Joyce Sral of Erie, Pennsylvania; David Garhart of Tyrone, Pennsylvania; Kevin Garhart of Altoona, Pennsylvania; Allen McNight of The Woodlands, Texas; and Erik McNight of Grovetown, Georgia. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Cherry Street Baptist Church, 800 W. Cherry St, Clarksville, Arkansas 72830 on Saturday, 24 June 2017. Exact time TBD. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Wycliffe Bible Translators, PO Box 628200 Orlando, FL 32862, 1-800-WYCLIFFE (992-5433) .
