Obituary for JOHN DAVID HUGHES

John David Hughes, 51, of Willis, Tx. passed away on December 29, 2017 in Montgomery, Tx. He was born to Bonnie and George Hughes on January 21, 1966. John grew up in Splendora, Tx with his parents and two siblings, Debbie Crawford and Steven Hughes. On July 29, 1995, he married the love of his life, Shirley Hughes. They were the cutest couple and people could not help but gravitate to their warm, loving and serving personalities. Together they raised a beautiful family that was full of laughter and pranks that opened their arms and hearts to many over the years. John will forever be remembered for his serving spirit, contagious smile, love for Christ and Family, ability to fix anything and his silly antics. Anyone who met John instantly fell in love with his bubbly and caring personlaity. He always knew exactly what to say or do to make you smile and laugh, or exactly where to pinch you to make you hit the floor. And no one could give a better wet willy than John. He loved serving others whether it was here in his small town or traveling to places such as Belize, Haiti or Mexico. The two things that meant the most to John in this world were Christ and his family. He loved being a father and was so extremely proud of all of his children. Anyone that knew John knew about his kids and grandkids. His grandchildren were the apples of his eye, he loved spending time with them whether it be wrestling on the floor, chasing them around making them scream for their lives or cuddling up watching a movie together. When John was not working or spending time with his family, he could be found at the church helping in anyway he could. He loved serving the Lord and helping others come to know Christ. John's work and friends at Baker Hughes were a huge part of his life. He was the type of person that you could depend on to give whatever task lie before him everything he had. He loved goofing off and spending time with his many co-workers that he considered friends and family. Another huge part of John's life was his AA family. They all supported and helped each other at anytime, day or night. He truly loved being a part of their lives and helping them in anyway just as much as they helped him. John loved being outdoors and tinkering with things. He could fix just about anything and could put anything back together (although most the time it had fewer pieces than when he started). He was an amazing person that left a huge mark on so many lives. Heaven has truly gained an amazing person, and we know he is rejoicing with the angels.
John is preceded in death by his brother, Steven Hughes; grandparents, Clyde and Clara Burnett and grandfather, Charles Hughes. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hughes; daughter, Jennifer DeFrancisco and husband Alvaro DeFrancisco; son, Chance Odom and wife Julie Odom; daughter, Ashton Carter and husband Matt Carter; daughter, Rachelle Hughes and fiance Aubrey Waddle; daughter, Madison Perdue and husband Nathan Perdue; grandson, Colyn DeFrancisco; granddaughter, Bryleigh DeFrancisco; granddaughter, Harmony Ashcraft; grandson, Weston Odom; grandson, Karsyn DeFrancisco; granddaughter, Raelynn Carter; grandson, Kolsyn DeFrancisco; granddaughter, Whitley Odom; mother, Bonnie Hughes; father, George Hughes; sister, Debbie Crawford; nephew, Robbie Harris; nephew, Jamey Knight; nephew, Elias Knight and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and great nieces and nephews.
