Laurense Richard Strouse was born August 12, 1949 in Cuyahoga, Ohio and resided in Coldspring, Texas. He received his angel wings on December 25th, 2016. Larry had a knack for sarcasm and always told jokes to make people crack a smile. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 year, Kathy Strouse, his brother James Strouse, and his parents Margaret and Richard Strouse. Larry is survived by his sister Peggy Lou Young, his son Dirk L. Strouse, grandson Davin L. Strouse, daughter-in-law Jennifer Hufford-Strouse, grandchildren Sabrina and Zacary Hufford, and best friend Steve Nelson. He had a love for fixing things and keeping his hands busy. He served as a helicopter repairman while in the army and had a passion for aviation. After his military career he took that experience home and did repairs on boat motors for much of his working life. Larry liked to go out on the water and he loved classic rock music. He had a personality like no other, rough the edges but with a heart of gold. Larry "Pops" Strouse will truly be missed by family and friends. We will never forget his laughter and his memory will live on when we think of him and smile.
*** Memorial service for both Larry and Kathy to be held at Coldspring United Methodist Church at a later date.
