Obituary for MARY ANN SPRINGER

It is with great sadness, that the family of Mary Ann (Sloan) Springer, 82, announce that she went to be with our Lord on Friday, May 4, 2018. She was born on January 13, 1936 in Humble, Texas and passed away peacefully at her home in Conroe, Texas surrounded by her family after Psalm 23 was read to her.

Mary Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to so many others. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of almost 61 years, Gene Springer, her children Bill (Julia) Springer, Denise Springer, Kevin (Karen L) Springer and Karen Springer, her grandchildren Scott (Lydia), Kayla, Austin, Kaitlin, Jonathan, and Jayda, her sisters Bernice Perry and Wilma "Tiny" Sloan and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Thelma Sloan, siblings Howard Sloan, Ennis Sloan, Edna "Net" Gregory and Layne Sloan.

Mary Ann enjoyed reading her Bible every day, spending time with her family, watching Astros baseball, basketball, Wheel of Fortune and talking about how she traveled all over the United States with Gene and their grandson Scott in tow, telling stories about all the things that they saw and places they visited in the 49 states and 4 Canadian provinces that they traveled to. She was a proud graduate of Conroe High School, class of 1954. She was a member of Firetower Baptist Church since 1979, where she served the Lord as a Sunday School teacher and rejoiced in knowing that some day she would be by his side. She was also a member of Southside Baptist Church in Sebring Florida, where she was active in Awana and her Sunday School class. She will be missed very much, but we take peace in knowing that she is resting and rejoicing in His arms.

"Growing up I idolized baseball and basketball players, little did I know, my biggest hero had been with me the whole time. She showed me how to live life correctly, while teaching me right from wrong, and encouraging me to pick myself up after I fall" Scott

"Throughout my entire life, my Grandma taught me what it means to faithfully follow the Lord, no matter where He leads. From my earliest memories of her instructing me in Sunday School to conversations in her living room, I'm so thankful for the legacy that she's left us. Though my heart hurts today on Earth, it also rejoices in knowing that she is now looking into the face of our Savior, having received all that she was promised by God." Kayla

"At a young age, she taught us how to love Jesus and to keep Him first in all that we do. She instilled in us the ability to trust the Lord and let Him be our guide throughout life." Kaitlin

"We were like twins. We had a great time growing up. She was a good sister, I will miss her and I love her" Tiny
