Obituary for ROY CALVIN PUGH

ROY CALVIN PUGH SR., age 89, died of respiratory complications at his home in Conroe, Texas on December 14, 2017. The oldest of 6 siblings born on June 17, 1928 to Albert and Mary (Stevens) Pugh. He is survived by his sister Louise (Pugh) Minchew.

He leaves behind Carole D. (Brown) Pugh, his loving wife of 68 years and four of his five adult children: Linda G. (Bridges) Pugh, Roy C. Pugh Jr., Jettie C. Pugh and Michael R. Pugh. He was preceded in death by his son John A. Pugh.

"Calvin" as he was known to his family, leaves behind a large extended family including many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Nephews, Nieces and Cousins. He had many friends who will miss his anecdotes, storytelling and larger than life personality.

He was very proud to have served his country in the State Guard of Ms., as well as the U.S. Marine Corp. in WWII and the Army (354th ECB and 432nd ECB) during the Korean War. He became a diesel mechanic and spent most of his working life as a self-employed welder and fabricator.

His greatest joy was being surrounded by his family, fishing, hunting and driving his tractor.

Memorial services with full military honors will be held on January 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., First Assembly of God, 3993 I-45 North, Conroe, Texas 77304. A reception will follow.
