Born and raised in Bonaca, Honduras Bay Island the son of Edwin Bush and
Maud Bush, he was a lifelong resident of Utila, Bay Island.
Harley O’Neil Bush Tatum (Aka PIPE) has lived a remarkable life, from a young
age he worked as a Merchant Marine, traveling the world. During the Vietnam
War he aided the US military with supplies and recourses.
He was a passionate person who loved to help people in any way he could, he
loved fishing and held the record for most wins in Honduras Fishing
Tournaments.
His life goal has always been living his life to the fullest with many
achievements, most of them on the island of Utila where he built the first theater,
the first disco and supplied the island with the first purified water system.
In his golden years he moved to a small farm on the main land, where he raised
his cows, and named them all after his children and grandchildren. He farmed
and grew his own food and lived the life he loved with his partner Daniela and
his mother figure Dona Mita and many surrounding friends.
His passion was spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and
closed friends, dancing, fishing and being the life of the party. He brightened up
any room he walked into with his jokes, wisdom, cleverness and understanding.
He will forever have a place in our hearts; his memories and teaching will
forever be part of us.
