Obituary for Philip Glenn Adams

Philip “Glenn” Adams Sr. age 84 of Conroe, TX loving husband, devoted father and the best GlennDad, GrandDad, Dad-Dad and friend ever peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday January 15th, 2019. Glenn joyfully loved life and passionately lived his life for Jesus. Glenn loved people, never met a stranger and combining his love for travel to help and serve others.
Glenn was born March 21, 1934 in Lubbock, Texas to Pete and Mamie Adams and spent most of his life residing in Lovington, N.M. In 1952, Glenn graduated from Lovington High School and remained a fierce “Wildcat” his whole life. After graduating Glenn would travel to and from Texas Tech University to help his parents run Adams Concrete. Glenn graduated from Texas Tech in 1957 with a civil engineering degree and while working on his Masters degree Glenn was drafted to serve in the Army. Glenn’s military service was during the occupation in Korea. He was based out of Killeen, TX. Glenn was chosen and granted secret clearance for his pioneering work on the Atomic Bomb. Glenn received the Good Conduct Medal before he was honorably discharged.
On April 14, 1968 in Kansas city, Kansas Glenn married the love of his life Donna. Glenn loved his blue eyed “Jeanie-babe” with a fierce passion that truly transitioned space and time.
Glenn joined his Dad’s concrete business and together they transitioned the business into a Mega Construction company with many locations over New Mexico and West Texas. This allowed Glenn to building churches, hospitals and homes at his expense in many third world countries.
Glenn held a New Mexico Broker’s License, Nursing Home Administrators License, Elected City Commissioner, and worked for many years in the New Mexico Legislature. Glenn was repeatedly elected to serve as international, district and local delegates for the Church of the Nazarene. Glenn was elected by the New Mexico District Church of the Nazarene to serve as the Director of Work and Witness for more than 20 years.
Glenn is survived by his sweetheart of 51 years Donna, his children Greg & Tammy Adams, Lois & Paul Decker, Phil & Bev Adams. Grand Children: Heather & DJ Carroll, Keely & Shelly Adams, Rianna & Hunter Decker. Great Grand Children: Kyllian & Ashlynn Carroll and numerous other family and friends.
The family would like for you to remember in your grieving that it is very well with Glenn’s soul. Please think of Glenn as living in the hearts of those he touched…for nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much.
Viewing: Friday, January 25, 2019 – 5-8pm
Celebration of Life: Saturday, January 26, 2019 1pm
Both the Viewing and Celebration of Glenn’s life will be at: Conroe New Horizons Church of the Nazarene 1201 North F M 3083 Rd E Conroe, Texas 77303-1863
