Obituary for GAYLOYD WARREN

Gay Warren, a long-time resident of Livingston, TX, age 75, passed away peacefully at her home in Navasota, TX, on January 11 at 11:11 in the morning, in the arms of her daughter and with her devoted husband David, sister Sherrell singing Amazing Grace, her granddaughters, Cristina and Chastity , son-in-law Dale Lewis and loving little dogs by her bedside.
Her last several years had been a struggle with pain, so she is finally at peace. Her personal struggles are a testament to her spirit that she always managed to meet her troubles with wit, humor, and a constant anticipation for the fun in life. She is remembered for her beautiful red hair and her elegance, always turned out in perfect hair, make-up, clothes, and jewelry, even though in later years she was bent with injury. Her joys were going to Edna’s beauty shop, to see Brenda at Steel Magnolias Beauty Shop, going out to eat and to visit Jack and the many patrons of Lone Star Charlies, shopping, hearing her husband David Sing and play guitar, visiting and taking gifts to friends, being with family, and caring for her little lapdogs Chip and Buddy. She especially loved the wonderful officers at Livingston Police Department. She always had a joke or funny story to share, and those who knew her have said that with Gay, there was never a dull moment.
Gay was born to parents Jesse and Dorothy Emanuel in Goodrich, TX, on February 14, 1942, and graduated school there. Her senior year, she won state in typing and shorthand, and began her first career as secretary at Houston Intercontinental Airport. She married Richard David Warren on June 7, 1961, and had two children David Randall and Rebecca Allison. After the children were older, Gay studied and became a Registered Nurse. Gay and David lived in various cities including Tyler and Galveston, but eventually came back to Livingston, where they enjoyed a host of friends and family. For the past few years, they lived in a beautiful wooded setting in Navasota, under the loving care of their daughter Rebecca and son-in-law Dale Lewis.
Gay leaves behind her husband David Warren, who for 57 years was not only a companion during the good times, but also her constant caregiver; a son David Randall Warren, daughter Rebecca Allison Warren-Lewis and son-in-law Dale Lewis; grandchildren Nicholas Warren and wife Amanda, Mason Warren, Cristina Warren Newell and husband Cody, Chastity Warren and Lydia Jane Seeley; step-children Larry Warren (Wife Lynn) and Debbie Massey (husband Dwayne Massey); Step-grandchildren Kimberly Massey Walters and Mindy Massey Bently; siblings Jerilynn Emanuel Lord(children Mike Marsh and Theresa Marsh Harris,) Gary Emanuel (children Jade Emanuel and Amber Emanuel Pring,)and Sherrell Emanuel Huff (husband Bruce); also many loving relatives (Including Brenda Gokey , who she loved to visit) and friends.
The family will not be holding a funeral or Memorial for the public. A private ceremony, for close family and friends, has been held.
