Obituary for MICHAEL ALLEN CHEDESTER

Michael Allen Chedester, 62 passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at his home in Porter, Tx. He was born May 16, 1957, the son of Bill and Bernice Anhaiser Chedester. Mike graduated from Acadiana High School in Lafayette, La. After farming for many years he went back to school and received an environmental science degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Working for the Louisiana Department of Agriculture he was able to be a part of the farming community which he loved. Mike became a Customs and Border Protection Agriculture Specialist, serving honorably from March 2007 until his death. He received many service awards that included act of bravery and professionalism. Living in Toronto, Ca. for 4 years and working at Toronto Pearson International airport was one of his most enjoyable work experiences. Canadian friends became our family. Mike was an avid outdoorsman. Golfing and hunting were his passion. Music was his obsession. Not only could he name the song but tell you everything about each band member. Being very competitive he was always ready for a good game of cards, dominos even scrabble. During his final months he loved teaching Kenzie how to play chess.
He was predeceased in death by his parents, son Michael Ryan Chedester, step son Lloyd Jason Blevins, aunts Arlene Chedester Stone and Delia Anhaiser, and uncles Leonard and Ray Anhaiser.
Mike is survived by his wife Becky Marie Chedester of Porter , Tx, step daughter Amy Meaders (Shelby), grandsons Grant Callihan, Jason and Jakib Blevins, granddaughters Victoria Blevins and Kaley and Kenzie Meaders , sister Cami Chedester of Sugarland, Tx, nephew Jason Chedester (Courtney) great niece Madeleine Chedester, uncle Leon Anhaiser (Bettye), aunt Velma Anhaiser, cousins Mark and Paul Stone, Kelly, Randy, Natalie, Joey, Brian, James and John Anhaiser, Winona Burgess, Renee Guidry, Debbie Payne, and Noel Stibora.
Funeral services will be at the McNutt Funeral Home in Conroe, Tx at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 31, conducted by Father Tom Ponzini of Sacred heart of Jesus Catholic Community of Manvel, Tx. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am with a rosary at 12:00pm. Please join us after the service for a reception at the KC Hall 2655 FM 1488, Conroe, Tx to celebrate Mike's life.
Special thanks to all his colleagues at Customs and Border Protection. You were always there for Mike during his difficult battle with cancer. He was honored to be a part of the Customs and Border Protection family.
