Obituary for MARGIE NELL PREECE

Margie Nell Kirkman Preece
June 30, 1929- July 6, 2018

Margie Nell Kirkman Preece, 89, a resident of Conroe, Texas, moved on to her forever home on July 6, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 12th, at Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery, 1600 Porter Road, Conroe, Texas.

Margie Preece was born in Austin, Texas, on June 30, 1929, to Lacy and Lucille Kirkman. After graduating from high school in Manor, Texas, she worked in Austin and was a faithful member of Manor Baptist Church. She married William Preece in October 1947, and they made their home in Austin. In addition to Manor and Austin, Margie has also called Houston, Katy, Brenham, Tomball, The Woodlands, and, most recently, Conroe "home" through the years.

Margie was a supportive wife for fifty-nine years, a devoted mother to two daughters and a son, a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother, a gifted baker, and an avid gardener. Most importantly, for Margie and for the children that God entrusted to her care, she had accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior as a young girl, and her commitment to Him never wavered. Serving the Lord and loving her family were Margie's greatest commitments. She also loved her country and the Lone Star State.

Margie is survived by her children: her daughter, Deborah Williamson, of Conroe; her daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Clark Millican, of The Woodlands; and her son, William Preece, of The Woodlands. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brent and Jessica Williamson of Austin; Claire and Aaron Crawford of Spring; Jenifer and Ryan Swanner of The Woodlands; Drew and Britanie Millican of Montgomery; Holly Preece of The Woodlands; and Matthew Preece, of The Woodlands, and her great-grandchildren Lily Crawford, Bethany Crawford, and Dean Swanner. Other cherished survivors include precious extended family members as well as close friends, both old and new.

Although Margie's passing will leave a void in their lives, her family and friends take comfort in the sweet memories of her precious life and in the assurance that, in the presence of Jesus, she is more alive today than she has ever been.
