Obituary for Travis Lee Tarbutton, Jr

Travis Lee Tarbutton, Jr age 88 passed peacefully surround by his loving family on Friday, December 21, 2018. He was born to parents Travis, Sr and Lillian (Furstenberg) Tarbutton on August 17, 1930 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Travis served his country by joining the US Navy from 1946 until 1950. He spent most of his working years in woodworking and cabinet making. For a short while he tried his hand as a beautician and owned his own beauty shop. His accomplishments included authoring a novel and obtaining his pilot license. His favorite hobbies were spending time outdoors fishing and of course watching football. He was well loved and will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert O’Connor, sisters Shirley Wright and Patricia Bruce and son Bobby Tarbutton.
Survived by children, Jimmie Tarbutton and wife Julie, son Travis Tarbutton and wife Kathy, daughter Katie Smith and husband Clyde. Grandchildren David Tarbutton, Mike Tarbutton, Bryan Tarbutton, Bobby Jack Tarbutton, Sabrina Tarbutton, Amber Burth, Luke Tarbutton, Meagan Hopkins, Hannah Gray, Michael Kuehn, Connie Keller, Christopher Smith, Tina Almquist and 18 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 4th, 2019 at Houston National Cemetery with a gate time of 12:30pm.
