Obituary for Sijifredo Garza

Sijifredo Garza went to be with his Lord and Savior July 28th 2018 at the age of 79, leaving his family to God’s comfort.
I Cor 15:50-57 I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” “Where, O death is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Fred Garza was born on October 27, 1938 in Linn, Texas to Santana and Dionicia Garza. He attended Edinburg High School, and soon after married Olga Villarreal from Encino, Texas on October 25, 1958. In October of this year, they would have completed 60 years of marriage, celebrating 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. With a firm hand and a soft heart he taught his family the value of honor and hard work. Fred's faith was immeasurable. He walked closely with His Father in Heaven every day speaking with Him unceasingly, leaning on Him in trials and rejoicing with Him in triumph.
He worked for Van Leer Flexibles as a Supervisor for over 25 years where he established long lasting friendships. Fred was diligent and faithful, leading by example, he always made himself available not only to his family but anyone in need. In his leisure time he enjoyed deer hunting and also loved sports, always rooting for the Houston Astros, NY Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys.
He was predeceased by his parents Santana and Dionicia Garza, siblings Felia Rodriguez husband Jose, Dionicia Self husband David, Armandina Perez, Marta Gonzalez, Adalberto Garza and granddaughter Candy Garza. He is survived by his loving wife Olga Garza, daughters Norma Solise husband James, Nilda Gonzales, and Son Sijifredo Garza Jr. wife Linda. Grandchildren: Richard, Christina, Amber and Barbie. Great Grandchildren: Bryce, Ashlynn, Eli, Sophia, and Calvin. He is also survived by sisters Lydia Rendon (Thomas+), Graciela Garza husband Arnoldo, brother Santana Garza, brother-in-law Arturo Gonzalez, sister-in-law Sinforosa Cantu Garza along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many good loyal friends.
Fred was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Because he loved so well we hurt yet we also rejoice. We celebrate from temporary to eternal because he believed.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital. A special thanks and gratitude to Silverado Hospice and their amazing staff as well as Dr. Wael Asi and Dr. George Nasser.
The memorial services will be held Saturday, August 4, at 4PM at McNutt Funeral Home in Conroe. Post memorial gathering to follow.
